In Cambodia:
We accept very few unsolicited offers of volunteer help, maybe one or two a year, and recently only from Prosthetist-Orthotists and Physiotherapists. In the future there may be an occasional need for Occupational Therapists, English teachers, HR, marketing or general management personnel, but our needs are generally low, as we have localised all operational and supervisory positions. Localisation is an essential part of our work, as one of our key goals is to build local capacity and thereby build sustainability into every aspect of our projects.
- We use suitably skilled and experienced volunteers only to provide targeted training and development, mainly in the fields of Prosthetics, Orthotics and
Physiotherapy.
- Other opportunities come up occasionally, however a recruitment process is usually followed to select a suitable volunteer through organisations such as VSA and VSO.
