Our thanks to Simon Larbalestier for taking these wonderful photos during his recent visit to our rehabilitation centre and community project in Kompong Chhnang.

Huol Srey Von uses prosthetic limbs on her arms and legs as a result of congenital problems. Like all our clients, her prosthetic limbs need replacing at regular intervals as they wear out.
Pen Sontary, Community-based rehabilitation Team Leader, makes a follow-up visit to a landmine survivor to check that his prosthetic arm is functioning well.
Polio was rife in Cambodia until recently, thanks to the Khmer Rouge's destruction of the health care system. Around 50,000 people have been affected by this easily preventable disease. This young woman requires orthopaedic braces for both her legs to assist with her mobility, as a result of polio.
A very young beneficiary having a cast made. This is the first step in the process of making an artificial limb or brace. Growing children need new limbs and braces every 6 months or so - they grow out of them, just as children grow out of their shoes.
A landmine survivor practising with his new artificial limb. His gait is carefully checked by the Prosthetist-Orthotists (specialist staff who prescribe and fit artificial limbs and braces) to ensure that the new limb fits and works properly.
Mao Sokha has just been identified by our community workers as a new client who needs help. His legs are weak as a result of polio and he will be brought to the clinic to have orthopaedic braces fitted to improve his mobility.
Another young girl who needs to use an orthopaedic brace as a result of polio.
